XLB
We dropped the little guys out. Just two XLB models remain for those of us who want to go after that big-fish-of-a-lifetime, whether it is an angry early season Norwegian salmon in a fast flowing river or a large migratory tarpon somewhere on Cuba’s endless flats. In general, many things should be taken into consideration when you are selecting your next reel, but when we really get down to the basics of fighting large fish, only two factors really matter - the size of the train that your brake can stop and the length of the cable that you can have stored on your reel.
Having tested the reel in numerous big fish infested waters all over the globe, we can state with absolute certainty that XLB has those two factors optimized. The brake package is well enclosed and the heart is a firm carbon/stainless steel/Teflon disc. It operates smoothly even in those rare occasions when a fish pulls your rod down to horizontal level and your backing is leaving in an ever increasing speed towards the horizon and the only thing that you can do is tighten your brake. The line capacity of these reels is definitely enough even when using the longest Spey lines available. When loaded with our thin diameter Dacspun backing, you have a reel to fight even a large Pacific sailfish. These reels balance nicely any double hander, but they are just as well at home when attached to one of those ten or twelve weight single hand rods needed to fight the saltwater leviathans.
Waterproof construction
Full body trim to protect your lines
Japan made custom one way bearing
Hand finished triple high gloss anodizing
Precision machined bar stock high-grade aluminium
Smooth and strong Carbon / stainless steel disc brake
Soft polyurethane handle for maximum grip wet and dry
